
Erin Maurer, Primary Counselor
Erin is a Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC)through the South Carolina Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission, and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). She received her Masters of Education in Community Counseling at Clemson University and received a BS degree in Psychology from Penn State University. She is currently working towards completing the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Certification through NBCC.
Prior to joining Cherokee Creek she served as a Child and Adolescent Clinical Counselor at Anderson Oconee Behavioral Health Services in Seneca South Carolina. She administered, individual, group, and family counseling focused on topics relating to drug and alcohol use, anger management, relational issues and school intervention situations. Her experience also includes, counseling college students with drug and alcohol related issues for Clemson University's Counseling and Psychological Services Program. For several years before her promotion to Primary Counselor, she worked part time as a Counselor at CCBS.
Born and raised in Erie, PA she moved to South Carolina in 2004 to attend graduate school and live closer to her brothers. In her spare time she enjoys playing soccer, hiking, and getting together with family.
